A rainy Wednesday causes a pause in thinking...

Well, I'm always so much more excited and hyper on sunny days, I think that's why people flee to tropical climates in the midst of winter!

20 days until I move.  Weird thinking that "moving" looks the same as "traveling" because I have no furniture and very little stuff.  I'm participating in the Town of Clifton (where my parent's reside) group yard sale on 5/16.  I'm SO excited!  Remember those 4" shoes I used to strut around in?  Remember those mini-mini skirts I wore?  Crazy jewelry?  Bandannas galore?
Yep.  It's ALL going.  I've already put it in boxes.  My closet is still too full, although I own maybe 10 shirts now (compared to like 50 before).

It's amazing how adaptable the mind is.  I say, "okay mind, we're going to get used to having less options."  Then, it squirms and makes wild excuses.  Then, I say, "Come on, we lived for almost 7 months with very limited options...and 6 weeks of that you only had TWO outfits!  You can adapt."  Then it's more cooperative.

One thing I am VERY excited about is the weather in Berkeley.  Hello 70 degrees in the summer!  Hoo-Ray!  Hoodies at night all year round!!  :)
I have been adjusting to how little clothing people wear in this fine country of mine.  Not that I've suddenly become prude, but it's much more noticeable to me now.

There are other things I'm adjusting to.  Everything is so fast and every minute is so planned.    Also, the food is rich and heavy  (home-style Indian food is different from what we get in Indian restaurants, which is rich & heavy) and I can't stop eating it!  I get in the car here and then get out where I need to be...if I don't go "on a walk," then I can barely exercise in my day.
*I am excited to live without a car in CA and bicycle!*

Anyways, just a few thoughts.  Tomorrow I am meeting with Tashi Dolma, my Tibetan friend in DC.  :)  Yay for talking in Tibetan!!

xoxo
