Inner Independence Day

Tomorrow I will spend the day at Anam Thubten Rinpoche's meditation retreat & teaching. I can't think of a better way to spend a holiday that celebrates freedom because now I truly believe that inner freedom is the ONLY freedom. Many Tibetan lamas have even spent decades inside Chinese concentration camps and felt gratitude for the hardship and opportunity to face such adversities because it taught them this imperative lesson.

I am so grateful to be born in a life in this country where I don't have to face those apparent adversities. I am so grateful that I have a healthy body and mind so that I can use my greatest efforts to experience the inner freedom that we are all capable of being. I am so grateful that I have a generous teacher to show me the way to cross that bridge.

I am. :)
