I can't believe how beautiful my new city is.
Today started at 3:45 am EST when I got up to go catch my plane. I had a short layover in NY and then landed in SFO at 12 pm. My two HUGE suitcases, backpack and laptop bag were heavy and annoying on the subway (the "BART"), but my new roomies both came to meet me at the stop near my new house! How rad!
My house is really close to the BART and to a lot of wonderful other things. After Joe, my landlord/roommate gave me a tour, we all three went on a walk of the neighborhood so I could see it. Ngawang (Tibetan roomie) is so nice, too, and knows Anam Thubten Rinpoche, whom I'm studying Tibetan and meditation with here! Awesome!
Ngawang cooked dinner for everyone- tofu & veg soup (from scratch) with rice. We all just talked and talked- we're a very natural group of people together.
My room is GIGANTOR. I don't know what I'm going to do with this space. My mom has offered to buy me a bed! Yay! Tomorrow I'm going to search that out. Joe is letting me use a chair that folds out into a single bed (basically a cot). It's actually quite comfy! I also have a huge desk with 2 shelves hanging on the wall above it, a medium-sized hutch with 1 drawer and 2 shelves (hello undies new home) and a walk-in closet...with 3 shelves, tons of wall hooks (purses!) and a shoe rack hanging on the wall. There's also tons of bathroom shelf space. I don't know if it's a lot of room...or if I just have a lot less stuff. LOL
I'm so glad to be here right now in this very moment.
xoxo
