Prayers

My dear friend, Beaux, is in a coma.
It would be wonderful if you could all pray for him. He was in a bicycle accident and has been sleeping for over a week.

I've been in Sarnath for the past 7 days for a teaching with HH Dalai Lama. There were about 10,000 people there.
On Tuesday, HH did a private talk for the English speakers in the morning before the public teaching. I waited until he was walking back to the main area and I was blessed with the opportunity to give him Beaux's name as a prayer request. He held my hand, I was crying, and he asked how old Beaux is (28), he shook his head and said, "I will pray for him."
It was the most amazing experience of my life. I sincerely can't describe the energy I felt when he was holding my hand. *Sigh*

I made a wonderful new friend, Thomas. He and I adopted each other in our crap-hole dormitory in Sarnath. The bathroom was a total swamp and I didn't bath for 5 days. He's from Germany, but has been living in Ladakh for the last 10 years, most of that in meditation retreat in a cave. He's extremely interesting and socialable and I learned so much from him.
I got sick for one night half way through the teachings, but one of my new monk friends brought me some Tibetan medicine and I was better the next day. Thomas also had some amazing homeopathic medicine from Germany (that's his specialty).
I'm going back to Dehra Dun on Saturday (24 hour train ride) for one more month of Tibetan classes. It's been great being able to speak to people here (very basic coversations).
Now, I'm staying in a super posh hotel ($12/night, which is fancier than I have done since arriving in India) in Varanasi (it's 10k from Sarnath). Rosita, my German classmate from Dehra Dun, has been staying here since the beginning of HH's teachings. She and I are going on a boat tour of the Ganges tomorrow and then leaving on Saturday morning.
Please pray for Beaux.
I love you all.
