BUT....
Here I am. My first blog. (Should I put this in my baby album?)
I really don't want to write novels on here, but just use it as a journal (fine, Mom, you win) for my trip to India (and Nepal). I don't know how often I will write in it once I'm there, but I have really enjoyed reading Sarah's (from Japan...and elsewhere). I will be relying on Internet cafes and foreign computers.
This is going to replace my mass-email idea that I had proposed (instead of contacting friends individually)...so please don't be offended if I don't correspond with you regularly (minus you, Mom). I just want to be FULLY committed to the studying and meditation I'll be doing.
Today is Thursday, September 4th. My departure day is Monday, September 15th. I am pretty ready to go (on both a superficial and emotional level) except for finding "the ultimate suitcase." I have 2 in my room right now...neither of which will totally satisfy my needs. I feel like Goldie Locks, "This one's too big....no, that one's too small..."
Tomorrow I will go to REI (which I had never been to prior to January, but have been to weekly since...) to yet again look at luggage.
I feel like Annette Bening in "American Beauty."
I will find my suitcase. I will find it and it will be my home for the next 6 months. It will house my 6 months worth of tampons and deodorant (which I was advised to bring), my gigantic sleeping bag (which is now compressed into the size of a newborn), my winter jacket, long johns, and all the other random crap sitting on my bedroom floor. Why didn't I pick a warmer destination? Winter clothes are so bulky and I am a giant, which means they're even bigger.
Anyways, I feel like I should apologize for rambling on...but isn't that what blogs are for? A great excuse to go on and on about the most everyday, mundane things and people can either choose to read or to ignore?

Hi Caroline. I look forward to reading about your experiences in India and Nepal on your blog. Thendo and I actually just got back from a two month stay in South Africa. It was amazing. By far the best thing about the trip was meeting Thendo's daughter Funi, whom returned to the states with us. The three of us our living in an apartment outside of Burlington and we are just loving being together. Anyway, have a great time and I'll be in touch.
Love you,
Sean
I will bring my suitcase on Sunday in case it will work for you :) The event ends at 3 so I will be able to meet you in plenty of time. Yay! Soooo glad you are blogging.
Now this ia a Great start to a Blog if I ever read one... wait wait, this is the first REAL blog I'll be reading. The journey is long and the journey will also feel like a minute.Savor the sweetness of the silence.
Thanks in advance
