27.

    Yes, it's my birthday today.

It was 27 years ago that I was cut from my mother's womb (thanks, Mom!) in Kingston, NY at about 1 p.m.  I tried to come out butt first (for those of you who really know me, this won't come as a surprise), but the doctor wouldn't have it...so I was a c-section.  My dad was amazing at how pink I was and how round my head was (and still is).  In fact, he called me, "bowling ball head."  (Thanks, Pops).

Anyways, life is really wonderful and I was overwhelmed with gratitude today.  I had lunch with my Granny who is all about meditating now that I've taught her AND she taught her Hospice patient (who is perpetually angry about something).  I cried  when she told me.  That was the best present I could ever ask for.  Sharing the Dharma with my family is wonderful.

My dad cooked pad thai, always a hit, and I spent the last quiet night with my parents before we head to the lake for a reunion this weekend...and then Monday I'm off!

Btw, I confirmed my hotel in New Delhi, The Vivek Hotel I'll be staying in an "economy" room for one night, checking out the next evening to catch the overnight train north.  They're sending  a taxi to meet me at the airport.  My room is about $6/night- which just baffles me...
